Austin was born and raised in southeast Missouri, in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. He started playing guitar at age seven while sitting in with his father's band. He grew a fond attachment to classic country riffs and river valley bluegrass. Growing up around music, he had many influences, from Ricky Skaggs to George Jones, Don Williams, The Ozark Mountain Daredevils, The Eagles, and more. After high school, he joined the United States Navy where he was part of an amphibious reactionary unit (EXW) CoRivRon. He picked the guitar back up when he got out of the service and moved south to Georgia, bringing his country roots with him. He has been in Georgia for two years now. He brings to the stage a great night of country music covering today's and yesterday's country greats plus his own great originals. He and his band, Savannah Road play a great mix of mostly 90's country along with the classic hits and a few hits from today. They also can add some classic rock if needed.
